PGE has launched an energy storage facility
Polska Grupa Energetyczna (PGE) has launched Poland's first electricity storage facility using Tesla Powerpack modules in Rzepedź, Podkarpackie Province.
The capacity of the installation is about 2.1 MW and its storage capacity is 4.2 MWh.
The Polish energy storage facilities built so far were designed and constructed mainly for research purposes (R&D). The storage facility in Rzepedź is the first investment that responds to specific needs of PGE customers, related to improving power quality and providing back-up supply in the event of a failure or planned works, it was also stated.
In line with the new strategy of the PGE Group, by 2030 we plan to build at least 800 MW of new energy storage.
The investment in Rzepedź is the first step towards this goal.
